Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors, according to ABC News.

Cohen has been under investigation in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York for bank fraud, tax evasion and campaign finance violations.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that investigators were looking into $20 million in bank loans given to companies controlled by Cohen and his family. The 52-year-old lawyer is also being investigated over payments he made to women who claimed to have had affairs with President Donald Trump. FBI agents raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room on April 7.

NBC News reported earlier Tuesday that Cohen was discussing a plea deal with the government. CNN reported that Cohen was not planning to cooperate with prosecutors as part of the deal.

New York prosecutors took over the Cohen investigation after a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. It is unclear whether the New York case overlaps with the Mueller probe, though Cohen has been accused in the infamous Steele dossier of taking part in a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Kremlin.

Cohen has vehemently denied the allegations in the dossier, including the claim that he traveled to Prague in August 2016 to meet with Russian government officials.

The investigation has caused a major rift between Cohen and Trump. Cohen, who has said in the past that he would take a bullet for his former boss, has reportedly told associates that he feels that Trump has left him exposed legally. One focus of the investigation is a $130,000 payment that Cohen made in October 2016 to Stormy Daniels, the former porn star who claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006.

Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, did not respond to a request for comment about his plea deal.
