Study Shoots Down Clinton’s Claim Of Media Bias Hurting Her Campaign

News networks ran almost twice as many scandalous stories about President Donald Trump than about Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign, according to a Friday study from The Media Research Center.

Trump’s 2016 coverage got a higher percentage (42 percent compared to 32 percent) of negative coverage than Clinton, and controversies surrounding his campaign received at least twice as much as Clinton’s, 1,032 minutes compared to 488 minutes from the major networks, the MRC study found.

In Clinton’s book “What Happened,” she wrote that the mainstream media needs to do some “soul searching,” and tried to blame the networks for helping Trump get elected. She also mentioned Vladimir Putin and Russia, saying it’s not easy to “just move on.”

“If it’s all my fault, then the media doesn’t need to do any soul searching,” Clinton wrote. “Republicans can say Putin’s meddling had no consequences. Democrats don’t need to question their own assumptions and prescriptions. Everyone can just move on. I wish it were that easy but it’s not.”
